Advertising Content Guidelines
As part of the editorial review process, your engagement ads are checked to make sure that they meet our content guidelines. Ads that don't pass the review process will receive a Rejected status with an explanation as to why the ad was disapproved. These guidelines are not intended to serve as legal advice and adherence to these guidelines does not constitute legal compliance. Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that their ads comply with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations.
We reserve the right to reject, approve or remove any ad for any reason. See our general guidelines below:
Relevance and quality guidelines
- Claims made in ads must be accurate, products and services promoted in the ad must be clearly represented on the destination url.
- Ads may not include content that infringes upon or violates the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other personal or proprietary rights.
- Ad may not discriminate or contain any hate language, directly or indirectly related to race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, sexual life, gender identity, religion, philosophical belief, age, disability, medical condition, financial status or information, membership in a trade union, and criminal record.
Adult Content, including Adult Products
- Ads containing adult content is explicitly not allowed.
- Certain exceptions may be considered for Adult products, please contact true[X] for approval.
Alcohol
- Ads must comply with all applicable local laws, required and recommended industry codes, guidelines, licenses and approvals. Ads that contain alcohol will not be displayed on partner networks that do not allow alcohol. This may affect our ability to meet your desired campaign spend and reach.
- Where a user's age or country cannot be determined, the ad will not be displayed to the user.
Dating
- Dating ads are generally acceptable, however, destination sites with sexual emphasis are not allowed.
Drugs, Tobacco, and Gambling
- Drugs and Tobacco, including smokeless Tobacco advertising is explicitly not allowed.
- Ads revolved around gambling are generally acceptable this includes ads that promote offline gambling establishments, such as offline casinos, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Software Downloads
- Ads with software downloads are generally acceptable, however, the software must not alter, harm, disable or replace any hardware or software installed on a user's computer without express permission from the user.
Pharmacy and Prescription-Only Medicine
- Online pharmacies (including pet pharmacies) that advertise prescription drugs to customers in the United States must be accredited by the National Association Boards of Pharmacy.
Weapons and Explosives

- Ads promoting the sale of weapons and explosives is explicitly not allowed.
